So, how did I celebrate my freedom from the the city, from the large campus called UofM, from the cold, WINDOWLESS classrooms where I spent hours daydreaming and mindlessly wondering off into la, la land, from the seats that confined me for 1.15 hours at a time?
Well…..nothing other then, when the last punctuation, of the last word, of the last senctance, in the last paragraph, of my last essay, in my last blue book was set in lead…..I simply got, up, handed in my bluebook, walked through the doors (did a wee bit of a “yelp”) and smiled at everybody.
I smiled at the couple trying to both ride a bike.
I smiled at the lady who handed me a free drink of Cocoa cola zero.
I smiled at the bike rider (there are a sea of bike riders at the U) who I almost crashed into because I was in such a daze of happiness.
I smiled at the old, bearded man who’s heavy eyes were glued to the ground (oh well)
I even smiled at the people in their vehicles waiting at the red light as I crossed the intersection.
And then…..I met up with a wonderful friend and we ate sandwiches and talked.
And then…..my mom bought me my most favorite cereal in the world:

and then, while driving home, I sat on the edge of the window and screamed: I AM A FREE BIRD.
and that was it.
grand day.
indeed.
