Hello Elizabeth,

I have shared your quote; "Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore..." Everyday I share Christ's love with others. Everyday I am discovering new spiritual oceans. Take this time to really get to know Him. He will fill you with boldness in order to "speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves."

By the way, chip is Spanish is: Papatas, fritas, papas, even chip de tortilla.

Maggie and I are just about ready to travel the world extensively; praying, encouraging and sharing the love of Christ. If you want to discover the answers you are seeking learn to pray. I mean really learn to communicate with Him.

I have a suggestion. You can set your blog up so others can be notified by email when you make a new post. Look at feedburner. It is easy to set up as is RSS.

You are not alone in your pursuit of God's wisdom. Getting older does not mean you have automatically arrived. You call it a "voyage" we call it a "journey." Life always has it's mountains to climb but this makes it interesting and all worthwhile. It is a time to grow in our relationship with Him.

I put this picture as my desktop. I read an interesting quote today: "As we change the way we see things, the things we see change..." True, I think.
You have a great spirit Elizabeth. I'm thinking more and more about coming to Minnesota next summer. Maybe you'll be there....
But if not, I know we'll both be in the places that are perfect for us :)
Love you, cousin!

Yes, I agree.
Everyone wants to feel fulfilled. It is what you choose to be fulfuilled by that matters.

That is also so true. I know for the longest time I would think that I would have to be at a certain place (spiritually or geographically) to really fulfill God's purpose for me...but I've learned through the last few years that God's purpose is living life everyday with Him guiding it. It is seeking, and growing closer to Him and listening to His voice. To go or stay where the Spirit leads. And you do not have to get to this "high level of spiritualness" to start doing God's will or accessing the Spirit's power. We have the power of Jesus Christ (the Holy Spirit) in us NOW. :)

True. thankfully, I have the Lord as a present help in times of trouble and decisions (ps. 46:1). And that He is gracious and forgiving for my many mistakes!

thanks!

The other day I overheard a young woman say, "I put my earphones on but forgot to turn on the music." Liz, from your blog I can see that you are a talented and gifted young woman. God has blessed you with a sensitivity for others. You are not unlike so many others both young and old who seek to feel fulfilled (or want to hear the music).

How often do we go looking for somethng only to discover that it was right in front of us all the time. As you search for meaning and purpose in your life, I wonder if it is not right there in front of you?

It is good to seek advice from others but they simply may not be on the same page. Some of the things you are struggling may not come from others but from you. You alone must make the decisions. This is the harsh reality of being an adult -being your own person and living with the consequences of the decisions you make.

"Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore…" This is great quote, also very profound. How often I wake up at 2 or 3 am prompted to pray. Recently we sold our TV. This morning I woke at 3 am. Rather than turn the TV on I sat listening. Noise of the world so often distracts us from God's still, small voice. In the the quiet I came before God. I was reminded of the verse, "silver and gold have I none, but what I have I give thee." I use to pray that I had the where-with-all to help and encourage others. I have learned that prayer is a mighty tool, far greater than gold. As individuals came to mind I prayed for each. A tremendous peace and joy came over me. Then I went back to sleep.

You have a heart for giving. As you search and open yourself up to Him He will lead you. The Holy Spirit will give you peace as opportunities open and doors close. There is a time for standing still and there is a time for moving out. You will know, in His time. Always remember that His timing is perfect, not too soon and not at all late.

God bless,

Ken & Maggie

Elizabeth, we are very capable of raising money for various projects but have discovered that prayer is far, far, more effective. This past year we have been able to connect individuals throughout the world who pray for each other and share how God is working in their lives and those around them. The last decade was dubbed the "Information Age" and the present is being called the "Age of Participation." This is appropriate how Christians throughout the world are connecting. It is one of God's ways of showing us that we are not alone. You are learning something very important at an early age - that a life with God through His Son Jesus Christ is a life of adventure, challenges, peace, and excitement. He will richly bless you as you open up heart and life to Him. He will give you the desires of your heart.

Hello Ken and Maggie,

This past year I volunteered with this organization called, Merge Ministries, and while there I mainly worked in Reynosa, MEX. I feel really called to Mexico and its people. So in the future, I hope to work with Merge or some other ministry hopefully, full-time.

I completely agree with Eric Reese, "the worst thing [you] could do is not go". incredible.

I would be soo thankful and honored to be added to your prayers. Seriously, through this past year God has taught me a lot about the prayers of His people, and they are a powerful thing!

MUCHAS gracias!
paz en Cristo,

Elizabeth, where are you working in Mexico? My wife and I travel the world to encourage and pray for those the Holy Spirit leads us.

Eric Reese works in Rio de Janerio's violent (favelas) slums. He made the comment the worst thing he could do is not go. In the following video you can hear gun fire in the back ground. See the Youtube video:

We would love to add you to our prayers.
